In 1976 to celebrate the bicentennial birthday of the United States, the town of Kanosh, Utah, commissioned a memorial for the Indian chief whom the town is named for. Chief C'nos (Kanosh) was a stately and intelligent man and a wise ruler of his people.

Dedicated to the Two Hundredth Anniversary
of the United States of America
and sponsored by the
Utah American Revolution Bicentennial Commission
and Kanosh Town and Sally Kanosh Camp, D,U,P,

This town was named after the Indian Chife C'nos. Born
in 1821 in California, he was a stately, intelligent and
loving ruler of the Indians of Pahvant Valley. He died in
1884.
