This two-story dark brick building has a partially exposed basement. It has a steep pitched roof, and white wood trim. A bell tower rises above the roof line on the west. The main entrance facing W. Oklahoma Avenue has a wide 11-step concrete stairway leading up to a porch and double entrance doors. Two wide pillars on the porch support the gable pediment above.

The windows are stained glass. Above the main entrance doors a narrow glass panel shows "FIRST METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH". The church was built in 1917. The cornerstone is granite and located on the northeast corner of the building to the east of the main entrance. It reads: "FIRST M.E. CHURCH ERECTED A.D. 1917"

This is an active Methodist Church with Sunday morning services at 10:50 and Sunday School at 9:45. The youth meet on Sunday evening at 6:00. They have a Facebook page for church announcements and comments.
