Stumpy Point Fire & Rescue - Stumpy Point, North Carolina

This station is located nearly 20 miles from the nearest mutual aid company, so we have to depend on ourselves to be all we can be. The department provides fire protection and 1st responder services to a 93 square mile district. Included in this are 2 US government bombing ranges in which they protect all structures and there are some 25 miles of deep water canals that run parallel to US highway 264. There are 210 residents in the district with over 100 homes. STVFD also has a medic-alert program for 10 elderly residents. As with any volunteer organization they raise operating capital through the sale of T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and huggies; annual Crab Feast, numerous bake sales and a cook book.
