Although Roann is a small community that you might not expect to have a large festival but they put on a busy festival. All sorts of things can be found at this fest including activates for all ages and interests. Oddly enouhg though even though it is called the covered bridge festival, and yes they do have a coverd bridge, you wont find the bridge included in any of the festivites but...
There is dancing in the street, tractor pulls at two sites - dead weight and conventional sled and the turn out is fantastic, minute to win it contests, cake walks, car shows, a parade, free ice cream, free kids games, free pony rides, duck races, magicians, carnival rides, a good amount of food, something going on all the time and often more than one thing going on at a time. Stores downtown like antique shops and restaurants stay open late so there is even more shopping and choices than just the street vendors. The whole town seems very involved in the festival I have attended the festival several years and it has been like this each year. And best of all, its FREE to get in, free to attend, and free to participate in most things! Roann puts on a big festival for such a tiny town!
