A plaque for Owen Williams on the Kings Head public house in Llandudno.

Owen Williams had a key role in the developement of the modern town of Llandudno. Over a meal in the Kings Head he suggested that the area would be excellent for the development of a tourist resort. The agent for the local landowner who was present passed on the suggestion to his boss, Lord Mostyn.

The plaque is bi-lingual, the English text reads:

OWEN WILLIAMS
1814 - 1902
Surveyor. Credited with idea of a resort and
drew up plans for model resort town at
invitation of honorary Mr. Mostyn.
Type of Historic Marker: Red metal plaque.
