Cuivre River at Stepanek Road -Lincoln County MO - Canoe/Kayak Trips on Waymarking.com

The Cuivre River is accessable at Stepanek Road in Lincoln County MO. There aren't a lot of places to put in the Cuiver River. We found this one using google earth then went and checked it out. When the river is down like it is now you have to portage more often than you might like but still is a fun place to put in.

Directions: Coming from Troy take State Highway H north to Left on Cave Farm road to right on Stepanek Road.

Parking/put-in/launching information: When appoaching from Stepanek Road take the water crossing (only if levels are down and it is safe) go to the left and there is another shallow water crossing to get down to the next navigable stretch. If the water is up or you want to go towards the Mississippi river park and put in near the water crossing. The next access towards the Mississippi is at Crouch Access where State Highway H crosses the Cuivre River. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM36ZC_R_H_Crouch_Access_to_the_Cuivre_River Paddling conditions to be expected: flatwater most of the time can flow if heavy rains occur. Difficulty of the trip: easy to paddle but intermediate Length of trip: 2 hours and up depends how far you want o go.
