Smokey appears to be silk screened onto two thin pieces of board which are fastened together. Up close, this sign has a noticeable three-dimensional appearance. The white layer is the lowest, and is reflective.
The dark red layer is cracked, and the ink or paint has worn through in spots.
This sign is attached to a fence around a fire tower at Big Bog State Recreation Area. The fire tower was moved to Big Bog from Pine Island in the spring of 2011. Visitors can climb the stairs to the top of the fire tower.
