Ce marais s'est formé tout naturellement après la construction de l'autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency en 1976. La construction de l'autoroute a coupé l'accès au fleuve pour ce Domaine qui date de 1705. Ce confinement a fait en sorte de créer un milieu naturel invitant pour plusieurs espèces d'oiseaux et un habitat végétal riche et diversifié, le tout, dans un équilibre parfait constituant un nouvel écosystème.
Le Domaine de Maizerets fait partie des plus beaux jardins du Québec avec son anneau d'eau, son arboretum, ses bâtiments historiques et ses sentiers.
Deux stationnements gratuits sont disponibles, soient:

This marsh was naturally formed after the construction of the Dufferin-Montmorency highway in 1976. The construction of the highway has removed the access to the St-Lawrence river for this area which dates from 1705. This confinement has made sure to create an invited natural environment for many bird species and a rich and diversified plant habitat, all in perfect balance constituting a new ecosystem.
The «Domaine de Maizerets» is one of the most attractive gardens in quebec with his water ring, his arboretum, his historical buildings and his pathways.
