Operated by the Keweenaw County Historical Society, this museum features exhibits on the commercial fishing industry that grew at the same time the copper mines were being developed on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Fee for entry is part of the fee for the different Keweenaw County Historical Society operated sites.
Features information on the unique nature of great lakes commercial fishing boats, as well as the many families that fished from one generation to the next. Through the exhibits and photographs, the museum puts a human face on the rough and risky business of commercial fishing in Lake Superior, helping the visitor understand the why as well as the how of this aspect of Great Lakes life.
