The building on east side of T.G. Masaryk's square (námestí T.G. Masaryka) served for centuries as Town Hall. First mention about installation of Town Clock on the Town hall comes from 1824. In 1863 the bulding burned down and in the city chronicle one can find a mention about decision of Town Council to build a new turret on the Town Hall with clock. The turret with cocks was finished in 1866. Sometimes in 1970's was replaced original clockwork with a new one and the original dials were renovated.
