This church was originally built in 1924 by the Catholic Church and served for 43 years as the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church before being purchased by the Jasper Lutheran Church in 1967.

The lowest floor is made of cobblestone, and the upper floor is brick. Not only is it built on rare cobblestone, it is also the only Lutheran Church based in a National Park on this continent.
