This is the longest single spanned bridge in Pennsylvania. It was built in 1867, costing $7,650. The truss system consists of high double Burr Arches which sandwich the typical multiple kingpost framework. It's covered in horizontal clapboard siding and has an interesting protal design. (that's the opening) The bridge is home to a colony of brown bats. But don't worry, just wear a hat, they won't fly in your hair! ( You do know that's a myth, don't you?????)
This bridge is part of Berks County Heritage Park.
Current Condition of Bridge: Fine condition only walking or biking access not motor vehicles allowed.
