Utah originates from an Apache Indian word (yuttahih), which means "one that is higher up." Europeans thought the word refered to Indians living higher in the mountains than the Navajo - the territory became known as the land of the Utes, and eventually Utah.
There are no facilities available at this location. There is a dirt pullout just south of the state border on the west (southbound) side of the road. The road on this stretch is straight in both directions, so you should have good sight distances for entering and exiting the pull out.
