Crestview Park is has two sculptures by Mexican born sculptor Dionicio Rodriguez. Rodriguez was known for his “faux bois” (fake wood), “rustic,” or “trabajo rustico” (rustic work) techniques where he would used colored cement to simulate the appearance and texture of wood and tree bark. In Crestview Park he constructed a rustic shelter with a gable ended roof appearing to be made of over-lapping halved hollowed logs and has benches running along each side appearing to be cut from logs, all of which are constructed of reinforced concrete covered in cement. He also constructed a foot bridge appearing to be a rough timbers and logs however again are constructed of reinforced concrete with molded cement covering. These structures were constructed between 1931-1932. Both sculptures are in good condition and the park is receiving upgrades by the North Little Rock Parks division.
