To reach Alex Cemetery, take Highway 19 southeast out of Alex about 1.5 miles, then south on Cemetery Road .25 mile. This is slightly rolling prairie land, with few trees.

This is a red granite, two-sided monument. The slab has a slightly pointed top with an etching of an eagle and crossed flags. Beneath that, on both sides are the words "ALEX CEMETERY IN HONOR OF OUR VETERANS." One side then lists 82 names of those local residents who have served in the Armed Forces. On the other side, an additional 22 names are listed. The monument was dedicated in November 1995 (Sexton - Jerry Williams).

On either side of the monument is a granite bench. To the sides of the slab are granite cubes which can be used to hold flower containers. Two flagpoles stand to the sides of the monument. Seals from the various branches of the Armed Forces are shown on these flower cubes.
