A pub where the sign is a picture of itself, not very original but it’s a pretty accurate picture.

The pub is situated where the mortuary of the Sheffield Hospitals stood. Indeed in the beer cellar the original vaulted ceiling still remains.
The museum in question was either the Museum of Curiosities that contained zoological specimens, or a human anatomical museum.
The pub opened in 1897 under the name The Museum, but then when the nearby shopping centre was developed in 1987, it changed its name to The Orchard. It subsequently changed its name to The Brewing Trough, The Hogshead and then finally reverted back to The Museum in February 2005.
Date of current sign: 2/1/2005
Date of first pub on site: 1897
