This fire station is part of the Jefferson Rural Fire Protection District, which was formed in 1956, and protects the communities of Jefferson, Millersburg, and Talbot, an area of about 100 square miles. All three of the fire stations in the district are primarily staffed with volunteers, who live in the area and have completed an extensive training program for the privilege serving on with the Jefferson Fire District. The personnel includes the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Administrative Assistant, part time Office Assistant and approximately 65 volunteers including firefighters, EMS personnel, and Support Team, plus 12 part-time paramedics, one part-time mechanic-maintenance personnel, and a Peer Court Coordinator.

The District provides emergency services that include fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention ambulance transportation, water rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention & fire safety education, and health education, plus injury and illness prevention. Special events are held by the District, including a Flu Shot Clinic, Super Sitter Classes, AARP Safe Driving Classes, First Aid/CPR Instruction, Mint Festival Breakfast, monthly Bingo’s, and the Christmas Food Basket Project, and manages the Greater Jefferson Peer Court program, making this station an important community resource.

one 3,000 gallon water tender
two 2,500 gallon multi-use tenders,
2 ambulances,
