The text below refers to the terrace of houses but the photographs are of No 7 Adam Street also known as Adam House.

Terrace of town houses built 1768-74 and designed by Robert Adam. Brown brick with stucco dressings, slate roofs. Originally a symmetrical composition with No 7 forming pedimented centrepiece closing vista down John Adam Street, but houses beyond No 6 demolished. Three storeys, attic storey and basement. Three window wide fronts. No 7 has banded rustication to ground floor and enriched door surround to right with dentil cornice. Recessed glazing bar sashes, under flat gauged arches, articulated through 1st and 2nd floors by giant honeysuckle enriched pilasters supporting a decorated frieze, cornice and attic storey with pediment containing Adam coat of arms.
