The Giles Barber House is a two-story masonry house with an "L" shaped plan with a pitched roof. The house is an example of an early 19th century house with much of its original integrity intact. The house is typical of a transitional style house sharing elements of Federal and Greek Revival styles. The elliptical window is reflective of the Federal style era and the pedimented front, the "L" shape and the block lintels are Greek Revival style details.
The house was built by Giles Barber about 1825. The brick used in construction came from brickyards located along the east side of Windsor Avenue.
