The drinking fountain stands at a major road junction in Stansted Mountfichet. The structure dates to circa 1871 and stands on a stepped platform. The whole structure is made of cast iron and is highly ornamented. The canopy is supported on four iron columns and is highly pierced and topped with a finial.
