Riverstone Group own many quarries up and down the Mississippi River in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. This one is located just oustide the small town of Cleveland,Il.
I believe this quarry has been open since around the 1940's. My dad said he worked here in the '60's. I visit this quarry at least once a week and have a few friends that work here, one of them is the Superintendant's son.
The last I heard the pit was over 300' deep. They are expanding the pit to different areas of the property looking for the right density of rock.
