Thin board made from reinforced concrete fixed on steel pole form unique sundial located at the crossroad at east end of small village Koštany in Central Bohemia. Karel Myska, retired consruction engineer, constructed it with his neighbours in 2002.
The plane of the board is perfectly oriented in west-east direction while plane of its style lies in north-south direction. The board is painted from both sides. On one side there is a dial for Daylight Saving Time (DST) in Europe called Summer time (Letní cas), while on the other side a dial for Standard or Winter time (Zimní cas). Thanks to a simple mechanism one is able to swivel 180 degrees the board along pole axis and use the sundial in former or later time. On near info board there is also correction graph where one can find correction for given day.
On the board used for DST there is a Latin inscription "Utere Temporis" (Use Your Time). On the board for Standard time there is a Latin inscription "Sol Vita Est" (Sun in Life).
