Situado na orla Sudeste do concelho de Cabeceiras de Basto, o território correspondente, na actualidade, à Freguesia de Arco de Baúlhe caracteriza-se fundamentalmente pela suavidade da sua topografia rasgada pelo Rio Ouro (por alguns designado de "Rio Peio"), afluente da margem direita do Tâmega, sobre o qual foi lançada, no século XVIII, aquela que é também conhecida por "Ponte Velha", ou seja, a "Ponte do Arco de Baúlhe", destinada, na origem, a integrar o antigo carreiro que ligava as localidades de Arco de Baúlhe e de Pedraça.
Ponte simples, mas robusta, com tabuleiro de perfil horizontal com pavimento lajeado assente sobre um único arco de volta perfeita e imponente talha-mar triangular colocado a montante, a ponte possui ainda guardas de duas fiadas em pedra bem aparelhada.

Situated in Arco de Baúlhe that is characterized mainly by the smoothness of its topography torn by Rio Ouro (called by some the "Rio Peio"), a tributary of right bank of the Tâmega river, on which was launched by the eighteenth century, one that is known as "Ponte Velha", and also as "Ponte do Arco de Baúlhe" aimed at the origin, to integrate the ancient trail that connected the towns of Arco de Baúlhe and Pedraça.
The bridge is simple, but robust, based on a single round arch and imposing triangular skimmer placed upstream, the bridge also has two rows of guards in stone well equipped.
