On Wednesday, 2 July 2008, Loyd Levene of Portsoken, HRH The Duke of Gloucester and the Bishop of London unveiled and dedicated the Lloyd's War Memorial, commemorating the members of Lloyd's who lost their lives in the First World War. The war memorial is a tribute not only to those brave men who lost their lives, but to every man and woman who contributed to the protection of Lloyd's and the surrounding areas during the war.
