The Saint has been asked by a friend to investigate the goings on at her father’s remote inn in Cornwall. It becomes immediately apparent that Simon is not welcome by either the inn keeper or his three guests. Simon persists in staying and eventually finds that the four men are extending a tunnel that exists under the inn. It appears that the tunnel leads to a sewer that connects to the local prison. Despite the men blowing up Simon’s car, he succeeds in alerting the police to a prison break and puts in a good word for the inn keeper, who had been co-erced into assisting the other three men.
The main location for this episode is the inn, ostensibly in Cornwall, in reality The Beehive in Epping Green. As the clips show, the vegetation has moved on somewhat since the 1960s.
