Neptunstrasse is a quiet street in a housing quarter of Allschwil near the border to Basel. It is only one of a bunch of streets in the closer area that are named after Planets or stars. The others are Merkurstrasse, Saturnstrasse, Jupiterstrasse and Wegastrasse. All are less than 300 meters away.
Neptune is well known, from 1846 when it was discovered until 1930 when Pluto was discovered it was known as the eighth and farthest planet of the solar system. Since Pluto's degradation in 2006 it can claim this title again.
