The Montrose U.S. Post Office is one of thirteen post offices nominated to the National Register of Historic Places as part of a the multiple property thematic submission.

The Montrose U.S. Post Office was built in beginning in 1931 and completed in 1932. The building was designed by the U.S. Treasury Supervising Architect James A. Wetmore in a Renaissance Revival style. The building has a smooth stone exterior with arched windows and a tile roof. The building continues to serve as a U.S. Post Office.
