The Church was restored in 1891 when major works were carried out
with modernising the building and loose plaster and the chancel
ceiling was repaired.
There has been a church in existance by 1229 and was dediated to St Helen by 1341. The walls of the church are built of local clunch and fieldstones fortified by limestone.
