The province of Pattani lies in the far south of Thailand. The provincial capital city, which shares the same name, has a provincial bus terminal on its outskirts. This terminal deals with long distance travel. There is a second and informal bus station inside the city, near the city centre. This station deals with intra-provincial traffic and routes to the two nearby provinces of Yala and Narathiwat.
This station consists of a bus parking area on the south side of the road, on the northern, a bus company office, the 'Pattani Transport Co' where people wait on the street for their bus. In this same area are several other small bus companies, which provide both buses and mini-buses. Food and drink are available from several small shops in the vicinity, some of the bus company offices have toilets for use by customers.
