The theater started its life as a church. In 1938 the First Church of Christ, Scientist was built by Los Angeles architect Paul Revere Williams. In 1998, the church was sold and ceased its religious activities.
The The Theater Coalition as formed in 1994. The church was renovated and turned into a theater. The inside was totally gutted and transformed. The theater is home to community artistic performances.
