This enormous sculpture of a booming prairie chicken was built by Art Fosse, and unveiled in 1976. It is 13 x 18 feet, and weighs 9000 lbs. It was repainted in 2008 for Rothsay's 125th anniversary.
The chicken stands in a wayside rest dedicated to Art Fosse, close to the I-94 exit.
And why a prairie chicken? In 1975, Rothsay proclaimed itself the Prairie Chicken Capital of Minnesota.
