There are many pubs called The Crown and many called The Mitre. Perhaps there are less combining the two.

The Crown has long been a sign used to attract customers to a pub and might hint at support for the monarch. The Mitre also has a history and equally, it might suggest allegiance to the church. Over the years however the relationship between the two has often been somewhat shaky. So what would be the sensible thing to do? Acknowledge both.
