This seat was designed by Elisabeth Whitworth Scott who lived from 1898 to 1972. Elisabeth is the architect of the Shakespeare memorial theatre. Located in the New Forest in Hampshire National Park it provides a resting place whilst walking around the large open area of Hightown Common. This area of 5.54 acres of land was gifted to the people by Baron Eversly in 1929. The land is now manged by the National Trust who keep it for the people.
