James Stephen DeWit
June 9.1941 - July 17, 2009
Jim always believed the sky's the limit,
and taught his children and grandchildren the same.
He was an optimist who loved to make people laugh.
He was always willing to help the less fortunate.
Jim was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and moved to
California where he discovered his true passion: flying.
He was proud of his unblemished career as Captain with
American Airlines and NetJets. His hobbies included
travel, music, photography, movie memorabilia,
history,computers, books, airplanes, and more.
Jim never spent a night in the hospital.
Born on the dining room table, he died at his
dining room table while reading the morning newspaper.
Jim's affection, honesty, moral values, and unfailing sense
of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Too soon, Jim "took the flight west."
A more beloved and devoted Husband,
Father, and Grandfather cannot be found.
"I did it my way."
