Rubidoux, named after its founder Louis Rubidoux, has long been a rural community of dairy farmers and quarries. Rapid urban expansion in the Inland Empire has changed the entire area into one big city. As a consequence, Rubidoux, the largest unincorporated city in all of Riverside County,will join with several surrounding unincorporated areas to form the new city of Jarupa Valley.
