Former Sea Chapel (Zeekapel) was built here around 1320. In 1573 was the chapel destroyed by Spanish troops. The new chapel was built in 1647. Tower of the chapel was destroyed by a severe storm around 1850 and in the same year renovated. In 1905 the tower was rebuilt in Renaissance style.
