The memorial reads:

In memory of
the men, women and
children who perished
in the Holocaust
(Hebrew writing)
May our lives bring
honor to their memory

Donated by
Sinai Mortuary of Phoenix

The memorial is near the entrance to, and within, Beth Israel Memorial Park, one of the first Jewish cemeteries in Phoenix, Arizona. It stands apart from the rows of headstones. From its position it is clear that it holds some significance as a memorial. The granite memorial stands about 3-4 feet high and is engraved with the words posted above. There are some Holocaust survivors in the Phoenix area as well as a substantial Jewish population. No information is available about when it was dedicated. According to the memorial, it was donated by Sinai Mortuary of Phoenix.

This cemetery is still in use and is often visited. With its location near the entrance, one cannot help but see the memorial and remember those who perished in the Holocaust. When I first saw it, I started thinking of all of those who died, Jews and gentiles, in the Holocaust. A time of evil and senseless killing.
