Numerous trees are on exhibit at Arie den Boer Arboretum at Water Works Park. Named after the late Arie den Boer, a well known horticulturist, the display includes one of the largest collections of flowering crab trees, nearly 300 varieties. Metal chips hang from many of the trees to signify they have been adopted and dedicated to a loved one.
The arboreum is located in the eastern part of the park at the Fleur Street entrance. Hours are 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
