This railroad crossing quilt is appropriate for Adaza’s aging grain elevator. The town used to be a bustling railroad town known for its cattleyards; it is now home to a handful of people. Stories are told about the ladies in the Thursday Club who, back in the 1920’s, would dress in their finest and take the train from Adaza to Chicago for lunch then return home that afternoon. The “Railroad” quilt block can be found on E13 in the “middle” of Adaza; it is #7 on the Greene County Barn Quilt map.
