The old Adams County Courthouse is located on Michigan Street in Council, Idaho. Adams County was established in 1911 from the northern part of Washington County. This Colonial Revival style courthouse was built in 1915. The old Adams County Courthouse was placed on the National Register on September 22, 1987. The old courthouse remained in use until 2000 when the new courthouse was completed. In 2002, the Adams County Historic Preservation Commission was established with its initial goal the being the preservation and restoration of the Old Adams County Courthouse.
