QB0321 - USCGS Y321, Idaho - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

The benchmark is located at the northwest corner of the Slim’s Tavern building (former Post Office building) on East Bridge Street in Midvale, Idaho.
The cap is set vertically in the exposed stone at the northwest corner of the building about a foot above the ground. The cap was set by the US Coast & Geodetic Survery in 1946 and was marked Y321.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1983 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. IN MIDVALE, AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE POST OFFICE, 0.15 KM (0.1 MI) EAST ALONG BRIDGE STREET FROM THE INTERSECTION OF US HIGHWAY 95, 0.15 KM (0.1 MI) WEST OF THE WEST END OF THE STEEL BRIDGE OVER THE WEISER RIVER, SET VERTICALLY IN THE NORTH FACE OF THE POST OFFICE, 0.3 METER (1 FT) EAST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER, 12.5 METERS (41 FT) SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF BRIDGE STREET, 0.2 METER (0.8 FT) ABOVE THE SIDEWALK. THE MARK IS 0.4 M ABOVE THE STREET.
