This “necessary” facility takes us back to a time when indoor plumbing was rare on the newly settled prairie. This “two-seater” is found behind the large white house in the middle of Heritage Village museum in Sioux Center. The exterior has been repainted and re-shingled, but the inside is rustic and worn having seen plenty of use over the years. The crescent moon has been painted on the front for the traditional look.
Heritage Village is on 7th Street NE on the west end of the county fairgrounds, and parking is handy to visit all the buildings in the museum.
