While at the building updated photographs I got to talk to Steve Hamblin, Clinton City Building Inspector. Several years ago Clinton moved their city complex from a location further in town to this new complex. The old complex was stately and the new complex not as photogenic. I asked him why Clinton moved in 2009 to this new location.
According to Mr. Hamblin Clinton City was growing by leaps and bounds in the early 90s and the old complex had gotten too small. The owner of the land the current complex is on traded the city for the property the city is now on for money and the old city hall complex. According to Steve Hamblin that owner made tons of cash on the deal.
The new city office building is easy to miss, to be honest it looks like dentist office. If the Clinton was trying to project a humble appearance they met their goal.
What is exciting about the land deal though is the huge city park that Clinton built immediately west of city hall.
