Trough House Bridge spans the start of a narrow rock gorge. No wonder the water backs up and rises to such high levels. The flood marker is a dressed stone on the upstream parapet, southern end. The lower level refers to an event on October 1st, 1890, the higher mark to August 10th, 1962.
