Two time capsules lie buried at the feet of the Statue of Liberty replica on the lawn of the Woodbine Public Library. The first one was buried during the Centennial celebration in 1966 and opened on July 29, 1991. The one next to it says: “Woodbine, 125 Years, September 28, 1991; Open September 28, 2016. The words on both capsules are found within the outline of the state of Iowa.
