According to a plaque on the church, the adjacent Lourdes grotto is constructed of native stone. Within the grotto is an altar, behind which is an alcove with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.
From a History by Eddie Herrmann:
"In 1932, the beautiful Lourdes Grotto was built adjacent to St. Anthony church. The cemetery had been in this location but was moved to the present Palm Street location in 1911 when the church was built."
