This red, white, and blue checkerboard star design adds a nice touch to this traditional old white barn. Unlike most of the barn quilts I’ve seen, this one appears to be painted directly on the barn. The same pattern is displayed on a smaller quilt over the door on the little playhouse in the side yard; another tiny quilt over the side window incorporates the same colors. These quilts can be seen on Hickory Avenue 3 miles south of Hull.

Sought this one out on our way home from Sioux Center today. Nice to have another one close to home.
