This historic site of the first Post Office in Thayne (then called Glencoe) is across Main Street and about one block north of the current Thayne Post Office.

Starting in 1888 (before there were ZIP Codes) mail was brought into Starr Valley and distributed from a log cabin in a town called Glencoe. This town was later to be renamed Thayne, probably in 1891.
