A Victorian building standing in Royston town, the Town Hall has two dates. One states the date built and the other we presume a date of renovation. There is a blue plaque on the hall which reads:

'Royston Town Hall
Erected 1855
as the Royston Institute
on the site
of a
turnpike toll-house'
Year of construction: 1855

Cross-listed waymark: [Web Link]

Full inscription:
1855 ROYSTON TOWN HALL 1900
