Zrícenina hradu Devín. Tato atraktivní lokalita - skalnatý ostroh nad rekou Dunaj - byla osídlena již v dobe ríše Velké Moravy jako ochrana pred Franskou ríší.
V 13. století zde byla vybudována pohranicní pevnost. Zlatý vek zažila pevnost v 15. století, kdy hrad vlastnila dynastie Garayových.
Poté jej vlastnilo ješte nekolik rodu.
Za konec hradu mužeme považovat rok 1809, kdy hrad znicila Napoleonska vojska. Od té doby hrad chátrá.
V roce 1935 koupil hrad ceskoslovenský stát, nyní hrad spravuje Bratislavské muzeum, které zde provádelo nekolik archeologických pruzkumu.
Ruins of Devin Castle. This attractive location - a rocky promontory overlooking the river Danube - was settled by the time the empire of Great Moravia as a protection against the Frankish kingdom.
In the 13th century border fortress was built. The golden age has seen strength in the 15th century, when the castle was owned Garayových dynasty.
Then it was owned by several families.
The end of the castle can be considered the year 1809, when the castle was destroyed by Napoleon's army. Since then the castle fell into decay.
In 1935 the castle was bought by the state of Czechoslovakia, now managed by the Bratislava Castle Museum, which are engaged in several archeological surveys.
